|A conformal array antenna fed by a radial waveguide divider has been designed in order to obtain an omnidirectional performance at Ku band. The single radiating elements consist on a waveguide ended on a cavity-slot and they have been placed on the regular prism faces conforming the final antenna shape. The array dimensions as well as the number of faces have been optimized to generate a maximum ripple in the omnidirectional pattern, obtaining an eight-faced regular prism antenna with an apothem of 20.6 mm. The single radiating elements are fed by an equal power eight-way radial waveguide divider. The use of waveguide technology makes the structure suitable for high power applications. The conformal array have been manufactured in order to experimentally validate the antenna performance. An omnidirectional pattern with a maximum ripple of 1.6 dB in the azimuth plane, a total efficiency of 98.8% and an input matching bandwidth of 11.7% has been measured.
